If you've been following me on social media, then you know that over he past few months I've been collaborating with the amazing photographer, Stephanie Vasiliadis. We've exchanged a few different photo shoots - the first was a downtown headshot session, then a sexy Stranger Things session, and the most recent sesh was a boudoir experience at her studio. We both wanted to understand the client experience of being on the other side of the camera for such intimate sessions. In order to better serve our clients, we feel it is crucial for us to experience the vulnerability and trust that our clients give to us as boudoir photographers.
When we collaborate, we go through the sesh swapping roles from photographer to model. We both know what it's like to feel completely comfortable hiding behind the camera, yet entirely anxious in front of the lens, so we instantly connected. I'll speak for myself and say that I wanted to flake out on the boudoir experience more than a few times. The usual self-doubt, insecurities, and unattainable goals ran through my head, trying to convince myself to cancel or at least postpone. But I forced myself to follow through, and I know for sure that these sessions have helped us overcome some anxiety over being in front of the camera. And from these photos, you would never know Steph was uncomfortable being photographed. Stephanie slays both behind AND in front of the camera. Here are some of my favs of her from our sesh. ♡
